Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes

July 30, 2008 · 3 Comments

Here is a nice documentary concerning Stanley Kubrick and the thousands of boxes containing source materials and research he kept while working on and planning  films. Better watch it now, because who knows how long this movie will stay online.

Images of Earth

July 17, 2008 · 1 Comment

Here is nice gallery featuring some spectacular abstract images of earth.

“The images you see were taken at the turn of the Millennium, when NASA’s scientists had a brilliant idea: to scan through 400,000 images taken by the Landsat 7 satellite and display only the most the most beautiful. A handful of the best were painstakingly chosen and then displayed at the Library of Congress in 2000.”

Ling Kee Beef Jerky

July 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

After a fit of boredom a few weeks ago I thought buying a dehydrator and making some beef jerky would be a good hobby.

I never got around to procuring that dehydrator, opting to buy a few bags of jerky and eating it until I got sick instead. Good thing because I think that Ling Kee Beef Jerky has that game on lock. Tasty meats of all kinds that completely satisfy.

The Apple

July 7, 2008 · 1 Comment

The Apple was a totally craptastic movie made in 1980 and the plot went a little something like this:

“Two Canadians, Alphie (George Gilmour) and Bibi (Catherine Mary Stewart), journey into the future, 1994 to test their fate at the Worldvision Song Festival. Their sweet and smart lyrics earn them the admiration of many, but corporate giant Boogalow International Music pushes for another team to win. When BIM offers them a contract, however, the pair wonders whether the gift is really a trap.”

Here is the epic first 6 minutes of this opus:

However, this scene reminds me of the Bollywood classic Disco Dancer which was made three years later.
